It’s official: AF Handbook 1 (AFH 1) is back with critical revisions aimed at aligning the publication with recent directives and organizational changes. While these updates reflect broader realignment efforts within the Department of the Air Force, they also signal important shifts for anyone relying on AFH 1 for reference or study. Below is a quick overview of the key changes and what they mean for you.
Removal of DEI Terminology
In accordance with the Executive Order, Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing (20 January 2025), direct references to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion have been taken out. While AFH 1 has been updated to reflect this at a high level, the USAF cautions that second-order effects—such as a revised Table 3.14—will appear in more comprehensive revisions later. This means some DEI-related content may still appear outdated until additional changes roll out.

I'm no stranger to suffering. I just want to know how long it typically takes after obtaining a mandatory 5 level to change my shred and gtfo of Dyess or Ellsworth or whatever icy pit of hell big blue wants to send me. I'm prior service and I'm an E-4. submitted by /u/AnthonyCoolzone [link] [comments]
Throwaway cause my AFSC is pretty small. I don't usually write stuff like this but it's gotten to a point where I need to express my woes somewhere. I've been a SrA for about a year or two and I would say I've gotten decent at my job. I completed my CDCs (bare minimum I […]
